NEW!! Great Video of Lake View Hostel (click here)

Welcome to Lake View Hostel, a brand new backpackers' hostel located an hour and a half from Medellin right on the waterfront of Lake Guatape. Only a 5 minute walk from the main plaza of the pueblo of Guatape, we are ideally situated to enjoy both the quaint town itself as well as all the outdoor activities in the area in a peaceful and tranquil setting where horses and cows roam freely and you can swim or catch fish 20 meters from the front door.

Whether you are into kayaking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, swimming, or just want to chill out in a hammock and enjoy the fresh breeze blowing off the lake, Lake View Hostel is the perfect getaway for tourists and residents of Medellin alike. (Click here for Travel Articles).

We also offer Spanish Classes for those who want to immerse themselves in the culture and community. If you are interested in Investment Real Estate this place is booming. With so much to do and see every day, Guatape is the ideal environment for an extended stay!

We now have a boat and offer tours  to Pablo Escobar's famous finca La Manuela. We also visit
Viejo Peñol, Fantasy Island, and end things with a swim in secluded bays where no one goes. In the wet season we have trips by boat to see the spectacular Vertedero (the lake overflows and creates a huge cascade down the mountain.) Video 1, Video 2, Video 3
